April Photo Book Challenge: day 29
Day 29: Freebie
Since I already used the only book I can remember I got for free for the challenge of Nostalgia, I am interpreting this challenge to mean "free day". That means, I can post whatever I want. I am posting "books that need to be finished"
I started these books in Autumn of 2014. I've read about 10 others books since starting these books. I don't want Autumn of 2015 to come around and I have not finished these books (with the exception of the coding book). Feel free to bug me this fall to ask if I finished these books :-).

April Photo Book Challenge: day 28
Day 28: Pages
One of my friends and I are separated by 3000 miles and we decided to do the exercises in the book together. We started off doing one exercise 3 times a week. We sent each other pictures as proof and as show & tell. We started this project at the beginning of the year. We just recently decided to double up on the exercises because there are more pages than we expected. @_@
April Photo Book Challenge: day 24 and 25
Day 24: Hysterically Funny
None. I have not read any books that I felt were hysterically funny.
Day 25: Happy Tears
None. I also have not read any books that caused me to cry tears of joy. I can't think of any books I read that had someone in it that cried tears of joy, but I'm probably not thinking hard enough.
EDIT 04/29/2015:
I kind of knew this was going to happen. I HAVE read a book I thought was hysterically funny. The thing I remember most about the book is how spot on it was about depression. So whenever I think of the book, I think of depression.
The book is really funny before she talks about depression. Actually, even when she describes depression, she does so in a humorous way. She is not making fun of it, she is describing what it feels like to her and how people react to her. I really recommend reading this book.

Day 23: Inspirational
I almost couldn't find anything since I used up the book I would have used or day 15 "quote.

I used a screenshot because I read this as a audiobook. I wrote a short review of the book on Goodreads.com

Day 22: Slow read
The book that really fits the challenge of slow read for me, is the book I used for over-hyped.

Day 15: Mythical Creature
I own this book at an e-book, so I took a photo of the Goodread page. This book contains a gargoyle. That is a bit of a spoiler (sorry). I don't expect you to like my taste in books so maybe you don't care.

April Photo Book Challenge: day 8
The subject for day 8 is "Nostalgia". I don't usually talk about where I work online or in social media. I tend to take the separation of church and state approach when it comes to work and social media. However, the only book I could think of that invoked the feeling of Nostalgia is the book below:
Brownie in a Cup
I remember scrolling through my tumblr feed and seeing a recipe for making a brownie in a mug. I thought it was a brilliant idea and why wasn't it something I had thought of before.
I used a mixture of two different recipes. I couldn't decide on which one to use. I liked that one used butter instead of olive oil, because butter sounded more baking related and olive oil has a very strong smell.

April Photo Book Challenge: day 7
I wanted to choose one of the Harry Potter books for today's challenge of awkward character. I just don't know which box those books are in. The one box I did go through, I saw the book "Of Mice and of Men". I decided against using the book, because like I mentioned in a previous post, most people probably were forced to read those books for school. Even though it is one of my all time favorite books, I choose not to use it.
I chose "Saturn's Children" by Charles Stross. Not only is the character in this book awkward, the whole book is awkward. I bought this book years ago when I was in Barnes and Noble looking for something new to read. I admit the cover caught my eye ... Oh! I should have used his for favorite cover! Anyway, I read the description and it seemed okay. When I started reading it, I found out the main character is a former sexbot. Not only that, but the spaceship she uses has it insert itself in her. So weird! I never finished the book. I think I will go back to it one day just to give it another chance. Maybe it gets better.

April Photo Book Challenge: day 6
When I saw that today's challenge was 'edition', I knew I would need to find one of my tech books. My tech books are the only books I have that I know are the second or third edition of its kind.

April Book Photo Challenge: day 5
Day 5 of the April Book Photo Challenge is 'Favorite Cover'. I don't have a favorite cover. Most of my books are in boxes. I didn't feel like sifting through all of them, so I picked the book with the cover I liked from the first box I went through.
I read this book in the early 00's. I can't remember what it was about. I know it was about sisters and I think I remember one of the sisters getting on my nerves. I liked the cover because I liked how the artist was able to draw them to look very similar enough to look like sisters, but different enough to show their different personalities. I also like the shape of their eyes and eyebrows.
April Book Photo Challenge: day 4
Day 4 of the April Book Photo Challenge is 1990's and I should have had a ton of choices for this day, but I didn't. Well ... I kind of did. I have a bunch of books I had to read for school, but I felt like most people would have been forced to read them too, so why feature them. I'm sure in later days I might go against that statement. I want to try to post books I like(d) or read by choice.
This book was published in the 90's; 1998 to be exact. As you can see from the bookmark, I'm not done reading it. When will that happen? Your guess is as good as mine.
I bought the book when I was heavy in my drawing phase. It was probably around the time I started this blog. I have a bunch of comic ideas I've been working on, so I guess I bought this book to get an idea of what works and what doesn't work. Here is a bonus photo:
This is what was drawn on the bookmark. I must have been testing out some things I saw in the book. The female is definitely from my anime phase. Umm ... yeah ...
April Book Photo Challenge: day 3
Day three of the April Book Photo Challenge is 'Spring Time'. I would have loved to have taken a book to a garden and taken pictures of it, but that was something currently not doable. Instead I choose a book I read in the spring time.
I read this book in the spring of 2010. I can barely remember it, so I am thinking about adding it to my re-read list. The only thing that is stoping me is the tons of books I already own that I have yet to read @_@.

April Book Photo Challenge: day 2
Talk about good timing. Day two of the April Book Photo Challenge is 'newest purchase' and I just pulled these out of my mailbox today.
I've had the 'Dreaming in Hindi' book on my Amazon wishlist for years. Since I am now trying to be more diligent and serious about my studying of languages, I thought it was time to finally buy it and read it.
Persepolis is a memoir in a graphic novel form about a woman who grew up in Iran during the Islamic Revolution.
April Book Photo Challenge: day 1
Okay so this post is a little late but I'm not that far behind. I've been looking for a challenge I could get into and this seems to be a good one.
I was scrolling through my tumblr feed, when I saw that thesportsdiva re-blogged a post about a photo book challenge. I immediately sent her an IM telling her I was going to do it too.
It combines two things I like: books and photography.
Day one is to post a photo of what you are currently reading. I've been reading this book since February. It is interesting so I want to finish it, but because it is a biography and one that is not written in a linear fashion, it is not as engaging as a novel.
