100 Days of Black and White Photos: Day 41

Did you know that the city of Seattle is named after a native american chief? His name was Chief Si'ahl.

All around Seattle you can find statues and other artifacts that are in tribute to the natives who lived here (and still live here) before settlers came in to take over the land. In fact, a lot of the city and county names in the state of Washington are anglicized versions of native american words. I took the above photo during lunch time today.

Totem

The above totem pole can be found in a park near Belltown along the Puget Sound. I took that photo one day while going for a walk during lunch time.
